Last weekend we announced some BIG NEWS as be approach 25 years in business!
You might have noticed that the staff at Mode Elle created a huge 1 week teaser campaign on social media that left our followers, models & talents to guess what our big announcement would be.
The secret: WE ARE OPENING IN KINGSTON!
Here are some of the hints we provided alongside their answers:
7. “Who you gonna call?”
A: A reference to the 90’s blockbuster “Ghostbusters” written and starring proud Kingston native, Dan Aykroyd.
6. “Hey neighbor! Hungry? Want some KD? And no, we don't mean Kraft Dinner!”
A: Keith's Deli is a local favorite in Kingston. They happen to be located just a few stores away from our new location.
5. “More stripes than Gwen Stefani’s closet”
A: Kingston is known as the prison capitol of Canada since it has the largest concentration of federal correctional facilities in Canada.
Gwen Stefani, known for a wardrobe full of stripes would be the minority in a place with so many “stripes” referring to the old fashioned striped jail uniforms.
4. “Meow! Retail therapy time! Let's head up the road and shop all 141!” #CataraquiCentre
A: The Cataraqui Center (also known as the Cat Centre) is Kingston’s premier shopping destination which features 141 stores and is just down the road from our new location. The Cataraqui Centre is also one of Mode Elle’s favorite clients! Our models love to walk the runway every Spring and Fall at the Cataraqui Centre!
3. “Our models rock it like royalty on the runway! Long live the Queen!”
A: What place could be more royal than Kingston which has a King (Kingston), Queen (Queens University) & a Princess (street)! You will find many references to royalty in Kingston with its rich history.
2. “What’s Hip?”
A: The Tragically Hip, often referred to simply as The Hip, are a Canadian rock band from Kingston, Ontario.
1. “Coming soon to a theatre near you”
A: Our new Kingston agency and academy is located right across the street from the Cineplex Odeon theatre in Kingston!

Our Kingston Grand Opening is scheduled for Friday, February 20th! We are excited to announce that Mode Elle Supermodel Liisa Winkler will be in attendance to cut the ribbon at our new location with Mode Elle President Audra Anderson. Liisa will also be offering our models a Supermodel Bootcamp the next day on Saturday. Renovations are underway and we would like to thank Interior Designer and Project Manager Cindy L.Dow from Interiors by Cindy who has been amazing preparing our new space in Kingston. We would also like to thank our wonderful landlords Erez & Rob Paz for helping make our move to Kingston happen and for working so hard to transform our new space.
